RMSA has received complaints (as of 19th January 2010) from students outbound for the winter holidays about the local Militsia stopping students and demanding bribe money.
We advise students to sternly speak to the officers and state your rights and reasons why the registration document was handed to the Dekanat as per instructed.
Please take note of following clauses in the Russian Migration Laws and state your rights in the event you get halted by the local police.

Inform the Militsia that if you are unable to board your flight on time, the Officers are responsible for replacing or refunding all necessary cost and inconvenienced caused.
The Dean also stated that it is necessary to get the names of the officers and car number plate to trace down the police officers.
