COMMITTEE ON INTERREGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

We are a social, non-political, and non-commercial organization. This committee came into being as a result of a desire of Russian students to come together with foreign colleagues, as a formidable group to solve problems concerning their live activities, studies, and perfection in raising their intellectual and cultural integrity. The other areas of concern are health services, judicial and social protection.

The Committee at RSMU was founded to create a welcoming community for international students and scholars on campus. Our members come from all corners of the globe, and we work to organize lectures, discussion groups, and events that help spread international awareness. We also work as an advocacy group for foreign students in need of assistance. The Committee of IIR is an organization supervised by a board of directors and an advisory committee and is supported by the Students Committee and the university. It represents the political and cultural interests of all foreign students and doctoral candidates. The Committee also helps foreign students build cultural and social contacts and provides information concerning the opportunities and pitfalls of studying abroad. Every foreign student at RSMU is welcome to join the Committee (all our services are provided for members only), participate in its events, and offer any ideas or suggestions they might have.

The basic aims of CIIR are the following:

The major objective of CIIR Executive is to create a comfortable and pleasant environment for foreign students of Pirogov Russian State Medical University in order to make their stay and studies in RSMU more fruitful. In order to achieve this, CIIR concentrate its valuable time and energy in the following three areas:

1. Providing information necessary for living in Moscow;

2. Promoting mutual understanding and friendship among the foreign students;

3. Promoting mutual understanding and friendship with students, organizations and citizen of our host country, Russian Federation.

Added to everything above mentioned:

1. We assist in fomenting the already existing relation between foreign students and educational establishments in RSMU. Again the association aspires to create cordial relationship between CIIR on one side and the administrations and other directive organs, staff that deal with education on other side.

2. We assist the foreign students in their professional training, defense of their legal rights and interest in RSMU.

3. The Association involves itself in building friendship amongst people, passing over the barriers of their different cultural orientation.
